Construction and Infrastructure Lawyer, 4-5 years' PAE

A great opportunity exists for a construction lawyer with 4-5 years’ experience to join our Construction and Infrastructure team.

The role is predominantly focused on front-end tender and contract review, drafting and negotiation, project consulting and litigation (the full life of a construction project). You will be immediately exposed to top-tier type litigation (and arbitration / expert determination) on major projects involving well-known participants in Australian construction and infrastructure, along with adjudications and judicial reviews under Security of Payment Legislation.

The ideal candidate will be keen, confident, quick-thinking and reasonably autonomous and committed to strive for excellence in a team environment, with ample opportunities to build on existing networks and develop their own practice with the strong and ongoing support of the team’s Principal Lawyers.

Graduate Lawyer, Estate Group

We have an an exciting opportunity for a graduate lawyer to join our Estate Group.

We are seeking a graduate lawyer who has recently been admitted to practice. In this role, you will work under the guidance of a number of senior lawyers and be mentored on a range of matters relating to estate planning including wills with testamentary trusts, enduring powers of attorney, trusts, superannuation and estate litigation on capacity matters.

The successful candidate must be admitted to practice and have a strong academic transcript. Previous Seasonal Clerkship experience is an advantage.

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong interpersonal and organisational skills, the ability to work in a team environment and communicate with clients professionally and confidently. Probate Clerk, Estate Group

Our Estate Group continues to grow with an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious probate clerk to join our team.

We are seeking a probate clerk with experience working in an estate practice. You will have experience preparing documentation and correspondence in relation to probate, letters of administration, estate administration and liaising with clients. You will also have a knowledge of estate law and a willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills and knowledge.

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with clients confidently. In addition, the person needs to be proactive and show initiative, have attention-to-detail and excellent time management skills. A well-presented individual with a good attitude is a must.

Employment and Workplace Relations Senior Associate, 7+ years' PAE

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and ambitious Senior Associate looking to advance their career in KCL Law’s Employment and Workplace Relations team.

To be successful, you will have a passion for employment law, be client focused and commercially astute, and have had 7+ years’ experience practising employment and workplace relations law. In addition to having a solid understanding of the Fair Work Act, you will need to have skills in legal research, drafting, client relations, conciliation and litigation.

Legal Secretary — Construction and Infrastructure

We have an exciting opportunity for a capable legal secretary to join our Construction and Infrastructure team supporting three lawyers as well as providing administrative assistance across the firm when required.

We are looking for an experienced secretary who has a professional telephone manner and is comfortable in dealing with clients and taking accurate instructions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • taking instructions and completing tasks with minimal assistance;
  • ensuring work is accurate and on time;
  • file management using iManage;
  • filing of documents on RedCrest and Citec;
  • diary management and control of deadlines;
  • client liaison;
  • monthly billing using Affinity practice management system;
  • entering client data into Affinity; and
  • general administrative tasks including photocopying, opening/closing files and binding documents.

The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, exceptional time management skills and attention-to-detail. A team player with strong interpersonal skills are a must.

Junior Legal Secretary — Estate Group

We have an exciting opportunity for a junior legal secretary to join our firm. In this role, you will be supporting two lawyers in the Estate Group and other areas of the firm as required.

Ideally, we are looking for a junior legal secretary who has had some experience working in a similar role, has a professional telephone manner and is comfortable in dealing with clients and taking accurate instructions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • taking instructions and completing tasks;
  • ensuring work is accurate and on time;
  • file management;
  • dictaphone typing including correspondence and file notes;
  • diary management and control of deadlines;
  • client liaison;
  • monthly billing; and
  • general administrative tasks including photocopying, opening/closing files and binding documents.
