Estate Lawyer, 1-2 years' PAE

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious estate lawyer looking to advance their career in our successful Estate Group.

We are seeking an estate lawyer with 1-2 years’ experience post admission. You will have strong technical and drafting skills in comprehensive estate planning including wills with testamentary trusts, enduring powers of attorney, trusts and superannuation (as it relates to estate planning).

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment and communicate with clients professionally and confidently. A well-presented individual with a good attitude is a must.

Probate Clerk

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious probate clerk to join our Estate Group.

Specifically, we are seeking a probate clerk with experience working in an Estate practice. You will have experience preparing documentation and correspondence in relation to probate, letters of administration, estate administration and liaising with clients. You will also have a knowledge of estate law and a willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills and knowledge.

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with clients confidently. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a proactive person who shows initiative, have attention-to-detail and excellent time management skills. Commercial and Corporate Lawyer, 5-7 years' PAE

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our well established Commercial and Corporate team.

We are seeking a lawyer with 5-7 years’ experience post admission. You will have experience with business and share sale agreements, due diligence, complex shareholder and unitholder agreements, the PPSR regime, employee share plans and drafting and negotiating general commercial agreements.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills and a comprehensive knowledge of the Corporations Act.

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, aptitude for providing commercial legal solutions and problem solving, and a keen interest in business development and building strong client relationships.

The ability to work independently but with access to senior lawyers would also be a key attribute.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution Lawyer, 2-3 years’ PAE

As our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the team.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner with 2-3 years' PAE in commercial litigation. Ideally, you will have had exposure to a range of areas including the rules of civil procedure in all major courts, the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), partnership and shareholder disputes, insolvency (corporate and personal), property and lease disputes (including retail leases), competition and consumer law, professional indemnity, defamation and insurance coverage disputes.

Construction and Infrastructure Lawyer, 4-5 years' PAE

A great opportunity exists for a construction lawyer with 4-5 years’ experience to join our Construction and Infrastructure team.

The role is predominantly focused on front-end tender and contract review, drafting and negotiation, project consulting and litigation (the full life of a construction project). You will be immediately exposed to top-tier type litigation (and arbitration / expert determination) on major projects involving well-known participants in Australian construction and infrastructure, along with adjudications and judicial reviews under Security of Payment Legislation.

Banking and Finance Lawyer, 7+ years' PAE

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented banking and finance lawyer with 7+ years’ experience to join KCL Law.

In this role, the successful applicant will enjoy working with borrowers and lenders in property and structured finance, acquisition finance and general corporate finance.

KCL Law undertakes a significant amount of general corporate and commercial work (including transactional mergers and acquisitions) and a candidate with both finance and general corporate transactional experience (or at least a candidate looking for that mix of work) will be preferred.

Legal Secretary — Employment and Workplace Relations

We have an opportunity for a capable and experienced legal secretary to join our Employment and Workplace Relations team supporting a Special Counsel, as well as providing administrative assistance across the firm when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • taking instructions and completing tasks with minimal assistance;
  • ensuring work is accurate and on time;
  • file management using iManage;
  • dictaphone typing including correspondence and file notes;
  • calendar management and control of deadlines;
  • client liaison;
  • filing and service of documents;
  • monthly billing using Affinity practice management system;
  • entering client data into Affinity;
  • general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning and opening/closing files.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience, ideally in employment and workplace relations. In addition to having a positive attitude and being proactive, personal attributes essential for this role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional telephone manner, exceptional time management skills and attention-to-detail.
