The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and professional IT Manager to join our well-established firm. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the firm’s technology environment, with a strong focus on the delivery of key IT projects, system improvements and the ongoing development of the firm’s technology capabilities.
The IT Manager will demonstrate both initiative and professionalism within the Practice Support Group and provide support to all members of the firm when required.
Responsibilities
- Leading and delivering key IT projects and system improvements across the firm;
- Identifying and driving opportunities to enhance systems, workflows and efficiencies through technology, including the practical application of emerging tools such as AI;
- Overseeing the implementation of system upgrades, enhancements and new technology initiatives;
- Liaising with and managing the Firm’s external IT provider/MSP to ensure effective delivery of services and support;
- Managing and optimising firm-wide IT systems, tools and platforms, including Document Management (iManage Work 10) and Practice Management (LexisNexis Affinity);
- Providing IT training and updates to staff, including supporting the rollout and adoption of new technologies;
- Managing IT-related issues, including computer software and systems in a Microsoft Windows environment;
- Overseeing the maintenance, replacement and repair of hardware and office machinery; and
- Attending various meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience as an IT Manager within a law firm or professional services environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver technology projects and system improvements. You will bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of initiatives from concept through to delivery.
You will be a confident problem-solver with strong attention to detail, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Experience managing external service providers and engaging effectively with internal stakeholders is essential, along with the ability to guide and support staff in the use of systems and technology. A proactive and solutions-focused approach is key, with a genuine interest in improving how technology is used across the firm.
