Lawyer – IP and Trade marks (3-5 years’ PQE)

The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with 3 to 5 years’ PQE to join our IP & General Commercial practice.  You will be mentored by a team of Principal Lawyers with a broad range of industry experience who undertake a diverse range of work.

Our clients are highly regarded companies and groups including software companies, technology businesses, professional services firms, national brands and corporate groups. You will work across a broad range of intellectual property, technology, privacy and commercial matters.

The Candidate

You will ideally have experience in the following areas:

• Trade mark portfolio management;
• Responses to Examination Reports trade mark oppositions and removal actions;
• Software licensing and technology agreements;
• Data privacy compliance and privacy policy drafting;
• Intellectual property enforcement and brand protection strategies;
• Artificial intelligence related legal issues;
• Australian Consumer Law compliance; and
• Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.

Essential personal attributes for the role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  You must be commercially and results oriented, and capable of assessing a client’s risk appetite and developing practical and innovative solutions to complex legal issues.  Strong drafting, negotiation and client relationship management skills are required.

An interest in business development and client relationship management would be highly regarded.
