Nicky Neville-Jones is a Principal Lawyer in KCL Law’s Family Law team and an Accredited Specialist in Family Law.
Nicky advises and represents clients across the full spectrum of family law matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, spousal maintenance, child support, and family violence issues. She is experienced in both negotiation and litigation, and is particularly skilled at guiding clients through complex and high-conflict disputes. Known for her clear, practical advice and compassionate approach, Nicky works closely with clients to minimise the emotional and financial impact of separation and help them move forward with confidence.
Accredited as a Family Law Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria, Nicky brings deep expertise and decades of experience to her practice. Before joining KCL Law, she worked for many years as a senior solicitor at a specialist family law firm in Melbourne, where she acted for a diverse range of clients.
Alongside her client practice, Nicky has made significant contributions to the profession. She is the immediate past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria, a position she held for almost five years, and is a founding member and Vice-President of the Family Lawyers Association of Victoria. She also established and chaired the LIV’s Animal Law and Welfare Committee. Passionate about law reform, she has advocated for stronger protections for family violence victims, including reforms to safeguard family pets.
Nicky regularly presents and chairs continuing professional development programs, including with the Law Institute of Victoria, and is engaged in legal education as a Seasonal Academic at Monash University. She is also President of BottledSnail Productions, a not-for-profit performing arts company for creatives in the legal profession that champions wellbeing and mental health initiatives, including an ongoing Shakespeare project performed in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
