An Associate in KCL Law’s Employment and Workplace Relations practice, Nadeem provides succinct and practical advice with a view of achieving productive outcomes for his clients in a timely and cost-efficient manner. His practice includes advising and representing small and medium enterprises through to large privately owned and publicly listed companies across a wide range of employment and workplace relations matters, including unfair dismissal, adverse action and contractual disputes.
Nadeem has acted for a range of clients including universities, federal and state government departments, and corporate businesses and multi-national private companies. In particular, he has acted for the Department of Health and Human Resources and Victoria Police. He has assisted clients by outlining legal employment obligations, drafting policies and procedures to ensure clients effectively implement fair practices considering their long-term goals, and advising them on managing underperformance and conduct issues.
Nadeem is also experienced in representing employees in unfair dismissal and general protection matters and assisting companies determine their obligations in relation to employment contracts and employment law instruments. Nadeem has also advised clients on transfer of business arrangements, Modern Award/ Enterprise Agreement coverage/interpretation, termination procedures, restraint of trade, appropriate consultation obligations in restructuring and redundancies, and discrimination.
Prior to joining KCL Law, Nadeem worked for various national and international law firms, including Clayton Utz and Norton Rose Fulbright, as well as the Woolworths Group as the Employee Relations Case Specialist for Victoria and Tasmania.
After completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) with Distinction and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Deakin University, Nadeem was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in December 2016 and to the High Court of Australia in February 2017. Nadeem is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and Industrial Relations Society of Victoria, and a Daffyd Lewis Scholar, and its’ Scholarship Fund Trustee.
Nadeem joined KCL Law in June 2021 as Associate in our Employment and Workplace Relations practice.
