Ian advises on a wide range of commercial litigation, with a particular focus on contractual disputes, partnership disputes, property and leasing disputes, and matters involving corporations law and trade practices law. He delivers advice with precision and guides clients through the dispute resolution process.
Before joining the firm, Ian practised in the litigation group at a mid-tier law firm where he worked on a range of commercial disputes and litigation. Ian’s experience includes acting in trials in the Supreme Court of Victoria involving contractual disputes and claims in equity, and protracted corporations law disputes involving complex interlocutory applications and multiple rounds of mediation. He has also acted on appeals before the Victorian Court of Appeal in matters involving planning law and a claim for professional negligence, as well as an international commercial arbitration conducted in accordance with the Resolution Institute Arbitration Rules in Victoria.
Complementing his commercial litigation experience, Ian also practised as a corporate and commercial lawyer principally in regulatory matters and commercial contracting.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Monash University, where he received a number of academic prizes for his research. He was admitted to legal practice in February 2020.
