In light of the recent Victorian bushfire crisis, KCL Law is delighted to announce its support for the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal, RSPCA Victoria and Beyond Blue by donating $10,000 to each.
The impact of the bushfires on Victoria, particularly those communities, wildlife and environment directly affected, has been catastrophic and the road to recovery will be long and arduous.
KCL Law acknowledges and conveys its heartfelt gratitude for the tireless efforts and sacrifice of the emergency service personnel and the various agencies that have provided support to those individuals and communities that have lost so much.
Sam Frey, Principal Lawyer and Head of Executive Committee said: “We are fortunate to be in a position to support three very worthy causes at a time of so much despair.
“As a firm, we are acutely aware of our corporate social responsibility and the importance of giving back to the community in which we work and live. While we may not have been directly impacted, our staff have shared their concerns and expressed a keenness to do something to assist those communities that have been affected by the recent bushfires.
“We hope that our donations to the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal, RSPCA Victoria and Beyond Blue contribute to the good of the community by providing some relief and support to those who need it most, and ultimately help rebuild our communities and conserve our environment for generations to come.”
The Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal ― established by the Victorian Government to provide financial support for those most affected by bushfires, including families of people who tragically died, residents who have lost or experienced damage to their primary residence, and farmers having to rebuild their properties. |
RSPCA Victoria ― a non-government, community based charity ― has provided support to both companion animals and wildlife impacted by the devastating fires. In fire-affected communities, RSPCA Victoria has been assisting with the evacuation and transfer of animals to emergency boarding, the caring of pets and livestock, and the supply of animal care packages. Having deployed its Mobile Animal Care Unit to help care for wildlife impacted by the bushfires, the RSPCA Victoria will be actively involved in long-term rescue and rehabilitation efforts. |
Beyond Blue ― an Australian independent non-profit organisation that provides counselling through the Beyond Blue Support Service, which is available to people, including emergency services personnel, impacted by the bushfire crisis. |
